Gators 13, Redwings 3

The CT. Gators defeated the CT. Redwings 13-3 Tuesday night in the first game of the SCHL semi-finals. The Gators move on to the finals to face the winner of tonight's game where Chip's will take on the New Haven Mustangs.

For the first half of the game, the Redwings were in control as they scored the first, third, and fourth goals of the night to take a 3-1 lead. Redwings forward Brian Roche scored all three of his team's goals to record a hat-trick, and defenseman Les Hrapchak scored for the Gators.

From there on out, the Gators went on a scoring spree as they put up 7 goals in the second period to take an 8-3 lead over the Redwings. The Gators then added another 5 goals to the board during the third period.

Goals were scored by forwards RJ Gates, Scott McDougall, Tim McNeil, Chris Mokos, John Poapst, Ryan Pospisil, Richard Naumann, Mike Coppola, and Hrapchak.

McNeil scored three times to complete the hat-trick, and McDougall scored twice. The Redwings were unable to put another one past Gators goaltender Kyle Sagnella despite creating some good opportunities to score.

Kyle Sagnella made 26 saves for the Gators, and Scott Wagner made 25 saves for the Redwings.
