Andy Meyer scored the game winning goal 26 seconds into OT Sunday night as Chip's defeated the CT. Redwings 8-7.
Redwings forward Nick Sylvestre opened the scoring at the 12:27 mark on an unassisted goal in the first period to take a 1-0 lead. Forwards Mike Nutcher and CJ Hedges added the next two goals later in the period to go ahead 3-0 heading into the second.
Chip's forwards Tyler Hancock and Mike Bordieri responded with a goal a piece during the second period to get their team back in the game. Nutcher then scored his second of the night as the Wings regained a two goal lead and put the score at 4-2. Forward Brett Dickinson scored at the 1:32 mark as Chip's now trailed by 1 at the end of the second period.
Forward Pat Henderson scored on the powerplay and forward Blake Barone added another tally less than a minute later as the Redwings went ahead 6-3. Bordieri then scored his second goal of the game for Chip's to cut the lead down to 2 goals.
Barone also added his second of the night for the Wing's shortly after to put the score at 7-4. The next 4 goals would all come from Chip's as they came from behind to tie and then win the game.
Forward Scott Page scored, and forward Mario Capobianco scored twice, one being the game tying goal with 3:11 left to play in the game. Meyer then went on to score the game winner in overtime to pick up the win.
Chris Groleau made 32 saves for Chip's, and Dave Runlett made 32 saves for the Redwings.
