The Chip's hockey team came from behind after trailing by 6 goals to defeat Hamden Sport Tuesday night 7-5.

Hamden Sport forward Peter Alden scored the first goal of the game just 15 seconds in off assists from forwards Greg Cassista and Justin DelVecchio. Chip's defenseman Jake Bauer would then score the lone goal of the period for his team unassisted a minute later to tie the game at 1-1.

The next 3 goals would come from Hamden Sport forwards Todd Hall, Cassista, and Alden added his second of the night as their team took a 4-1 lead to start off the second period.

Much of the second remained tight defensively on both ends of the ice. Each team created scoring opportunities that were turned away by Chip's goaltender Chris Groleau, and Hamden Sport goaltender Chris Ardito.

It wasn't until the 1:44 mark that Hamden Sport was able to find the back of the net again on a goal from defenseman Scott Jason that was assisted by Hall and Cassista to put the score at 5-1.

Entering the third period, it seemed that Hamden Sport had the game in their hands and ready to win, however Chip's wasn't ready to quit. Forward Mike Bordieri started the comeback by scoring a goal at the 13:10 mark. Forwards Tyler Hancock and Scott page would add the next 2 goals to cut the lead to 5-4.

Chip's would then receive another tally from forward Mario Capobianco to tie the game at 5-5. Then with 3:47 remaining in the game, Bordieri scored his second of the night to give Chip's their first lead of the game. This would end up being the game winner, as the next goal was scored on an empty net by forward Nick Mastracchio.

Chris Groleau made 14 saves for Chip's, and Chris Ardito made 45 saves for Hamden Sport.
