Hamden,CT.

Bryan Leitch scored 2 goals and had 4 assists Sunday night as the Chip's hockey team went on to beat Dragon Club by a score of 10-7.

This was the first match up between to the two teams since last season's SCHL semi-finals, a game in which Chip's had won to advance to the finals. A high scoring first period saw Chip's go ahead 6-3 on goals from Leitch, forward Charlie Dohn, forward Mike Ramprashad, defenseman Jake Bauer and 2 from Andy Meyer. Dragon Club would receive goals from forwards Hank Carisio, Karl Mauhs, and Todd Forselius.

During the second period, DC managed to tie the game as goaltender Jason Szerszen turned away all 18 of Chip's shots. Forward Erik Forselius scored at the 9:15 mark to cut the lead down to 2 goals. Mauhs then scored his second goal of the game, and defenseman Paul Forselius added another to put the score at 6-6.

Chip's would fire back to start off the third period at the 11:30 mark on a goal from Bauer, his second of the night. The next 3 goals would all come from Chip's as they took a 10-6 lead. Goals were scored by forwards Scott Page, Tyler Hancock, and Leitch. Dragon Club would add one more tally to the board when forward Will Rothfuss scored with 3:26 left in the game, but this would be the last goal of the game despite a few more quality scoring chances that were saved by Chip's goaltender Chris Groleau.

Chris Groleau made 24 saves for Chip's, and Jason Szerszen made 37 saves for Dragon Club.
